since combined printing is the synthesis of various printing processes, its operation will be difficult, and the following points must be allowed:

1 It must be ensured that the sequence between the units of the combined printing machine used has enough variability to adapt to the printing process combination required by various printed materials. Generally, the hot stamping unit is placed at the terminal of the printing unit

2. The ink compatibility test should be carried out before printing. Because the ink components used in different printing processes are different, and the inks produced by different enterprises are not compatible with each other, which greatly promotes the development of aviation aluminum alloy and consolidates the position of aluminum alloy in aircraft manufacturing. In this way, the ink used in two different systems will have problems of overprint rate and adhesion; In addition, ink is sometimes incompatible with other post press finishing processes such as hot stamping, inkjet and laser printing. Therefore, it is best to clearly understand the performance of inks and other consumables through manufacturers and suppliers before use

3. In combination printing, the color matching personnel of inks must undergo formal color matching training, and equipped with notch projectors and other advanced color matching instruments, such as spectroscopic colorimeters, because when matching colors, manufacturers usually use pigments from different substrates, which means that problems often occur when matching colors with inks of different processes, such as silk screen ink and flexographic ink

4. Set the printing unit speed according to the printing requirements. On the combined press, the printing speed is always controlled by the fastest unit. For example, when using UV ink, the speed of flexographic press can reach 300 feet/min. if the speed of hot stamping machine connected with the machine is only 100 feet/min, when hot stamping of printed parts, the speed cannot reach 300 inches/min

at present, combined printing is still in its infancy, and there are still many technical and material problems that need to be explored and improved. But there is no doubt that with the increasingly personalized and diversified printing products, combined printing will be widely used
